+1 on reading the Mythical Man Month. An interesting aspect to have going into the book is what true 50 years later and what did *not* stand the test of time.
Great insights. Built proof-of-concepts / prototypes is a great way to learn. And one of the most important and hardest things to actually do is to start with a clean slate when building the real system later on.
